Its been a bit quiet of late, ive been quiet of late.I cant say much is going on, im still run down from chemo perhaps, maybe its just run down from being run down, if that makes sense ?. What i mean, perhaps the chemo has worn down, and my system is rebuilding and im run down from the rebuild too.
Who knows. All i know is im sick, and sore, and my immune system is junk.
However, i have managed to set a new personal record. I got sick with a bladder infection (UTI - Urinary Tract Infection) on Sunday morning, and commonly, it takes 48+ hours to shake, the last few have been bad, on both times i was in hospital, but this time was different.
I woke up it was about 05:00, and i could feel the shakes, the aches and pain, and the general feeling of this horrible experience. I got up to go to the toilet ... ouch, the pain, "Son of a .... ". So i washed my hands, got in the chair, and made a huge IKEA glass of Staminade. Drank that. Then downed about another half of that in water, and went back to bed.
At about 08:00 i woke up and had more water, and mixed up some more Staminade. At about 11:00 Marc came past, and i was still in pain but burning up. However, i felt like i was on the mend !. At about 13:00 Mira went with her mum to Harbor Town (no harbor there) to do some shopping, and i slept, till about 16:00. That felt great ... needed that.
Got up, and felt better, well enough to go to dinner we had planned for a week with my mate Andrew and Alex (female). Went to Singapore Chinatown, and had a GREAT time. We later went to Dome where i had the countries worst short black, it was terrible. To make matters worse about 30 seconds after it came we got the "Sorry, packing up the tables ... " ie : piss off. Not going to run back to Dome in a hurry.
But the point is, i was much better, healed off my infection. Top work.
I purchased a Axial SCX-10 'Trail Honcho' rock crawler. I first stumbled on scale rock crawlers (scale - the same as a real car just scaled down) a little while ago, and thought ... this is cool !.I contacted Dave at DDM in the US, and he did me a awesome deal on the truck and the freight as ive of late bought some Baja 5B gear off DDM, and cant complain as the price and the service is all top shelf.
Ive always loved to play in the dirt, its been a childhood thing ive not grown up from. The only thing thats changed is the way i do it, back then it was Tonka, now its Catterpillar. If i get a chance to jump in a bobcat .. im all over it.Even my Hilux, i loved to slowly crawl up things offroad, working the tyres and the chassis to the traction point
But anyways, i love the fact rock crawling is so technical, and confined. You dont need a 1200sq/m area, you can use it in a 12sq/m area.
I love the fact we can go to the river, or the beach, take the Axial and while Ivanka plays, i can sit there and just have a little drive over sand, take a shovel make a few obstacles etc. It becomes much more social, and Ivanka can watch, and play with too.Its hard with the Baja, its a 10+kg car that runs at 50+kph ... its easy to get hurt, and i cant have Ivanka just playing while a 800mm 10kg car flies past her.
And about now you may have asked "Whats with the girl on the top of the post?". Well nothing, nothing at all with todays post !. I found her on a facebook page, and thought she is beautiful. Perhaps its the car attachment, i love women in motorsport, but i thought she was too pretty to not include :)
We now resume to the Honcho ..
And the vid that started it for me in scale rock crawlers.
And this, while there is only one SCX-10 (Army green color) in this clip, its done well, as the Singaporeans always do !
